Imagine standing alone on the Star Ferry pier in the early hours of a warm and humid October morning, straining to see through a low-lying bank of fog that stretches across the harbour from Kowloon to the northern shoreline of Victoria on Hong Kong Island. That's where I found myself on a quiet Sunday morning (at least it was quiet by Hong Kong standards) after bargaining hard the previous evening, in a small shop on Nathan Road, for my first SLR camera – a Canon F1. The very first photograph I took of that Victoria shoreline with its endless string of office towers, shops and government buildings, still survives to this day ... 41 years later. And so, with this new decade-long project the journey continues with the goal of:.
- Travelling to 10 unique and culturally-diverse cities around the world between 2023 and 2033.
- Capturing iconic architectural images representative of both ancient and modern times.
- Creating an eclectic portfolio complimented and enhanced by related stories for publication.
